Cupid, the marvellous TV series was the story of the Greek god of love, also known as Trevor Hale (Piven), who was sent to Earth from Mount Olympus as punishment. In order to return, he has to unite a hundred couples, without any former powers he may have had. His claims are seen to be far-fetched, which is how he meets Dr Claire Allen (played by Paula Marshall), who is a psychiatric therapist.
The characters were likeable and the chemistry between them certainly worked. Unfortunately, ABC cancelled the delightful series, due to time slots, which certainly upset a huge number of fans. Some even went as far as creating websites to petition against the axing of the show. Premiering in 1998, it lasted less than 6 months.
Many think that Cupid was Piven's greatest work.
