Piven, Marshall Get 'Lucky' with Indie Comedy

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - Jeremy Piven ("Chasing Liberty") and filmmaker Garry Marshall ("Raising Helen") are teaming to star in the indie family comedy "Lucky 13."

The film will be directed by Marshall's son, Scott. Shooting is scheduled to start Monday.

"Lucky" is the story of a 13-year-old boy -- played by Daryl Sabarra ("Spy Kids") -- who uses his upcoming bar mitzvah to reconcile the strained relationship between his father (Piven) and grandfather (Marshall).

Jami Gertz will play the mother, Doris Roberts the grandmother, Daryl Hannah the grandfather's new girlfriend and Cheryl Hines the party planner. Larenz Tate, Richard Benjamin and Larry Miller round out the cast.

I've seen 'cupid' a couple of times (sundays on a german channel) and until now that i came across some 'SOS - save cupid' sites i didn't realize the show was stopped after only a few series.
i seemed quite entertaining and had a nice concept - does anyone know why it was stopped?

Jeremy Piven is a legend in my circle of friends.. or an enigma if you will.. My roommate somehow contrived the nickname “piven” and it stuck like glue.. it’s crazy.. the other thing is when I was working at Playboy TV.. I knew a couple of girls that “dated” him, they are anchors on Playboy TV’s The Weekend Flash.. I’ve met many people who are one degree away from him.. now he HAS to come to one of my parties.. Damon, I wouldn't say that Jeremy has his own website He doesn't contribute towards the content - I rely heavily on fans for that. Great to see that he has a great number of them, though!

Maggie, it may very well have been Jeremy in that Chicago bar - I hear he is partial to playing drums.

I didn't realize Jeremy Piven had his own website! But the guy does great work. One of my favorite scenes of his is the Jenny Slater scene in Grosse Pointe Blank. "I was looking for a little bit of validation in my life there, but it looks like I came up SHORT!"
